Mirror Projects in the North and South of Europe
In Rjukan, Norway, 300 sq feet heliostatic mirrors are used to redirect sun to light up dark Scandinavian winter days. It’s an idea dating back to 1913 which finally came to life this summer thanks to modern technology!

This brings to our mind a similar project in the small Italian village of Viganella, a shrinking, sun deprived village on a mountain in Piemonte, which got their own mirror project back in 2006, thanks to the efforts of its young mayor and a dedicated local architect.
