Light bulb to Simulate Moonlight
Light bulb to Simulate Moonlight, produced by Scottish artist Katie Paterson in conjunction with lighting engineer Dieter Lang of OSRAM, attempts to recreate moonlight through artificial means.
After having measured the moon’s light spectrum, temperature and amperage, they translated his findings into an incandescent light bulb.
The artwork contains 289 light bulbs – each one burning for 2000 hours -, to provide a person with a lifetime supply of simulated moonlight.
