Footsteps generate energy

Pavegen-how-it-works-2013-02

Pavegen is a new pavement technology consisting of floor tiles that capture the energy of footsteps and transform it to electricity. A few days ago, a corridor of a local school in Kent, was paved with 24 kinetic tiles, covering over 5 meters of a corridor. The installation is designed to not only save electricity and produce the light needed to keep the corridor lights on but also to encourage the pupils and staff to engage with a tangible energy solution.
